The Municipality of Abu Dhabi City has launched new electronic, high-quality services to citizens via 6 self-operated electronic machines dedicated to the issuance of foodstuffs in various customer service centers at the Head Office of the Municipality at Al Salam Street, Al Bateen, Al Wathba, and Al Shahama in addition to foodstuffs distribution centers at Al Muroor Street, and Musaffah.
Commenting on the new service offering, the Acting Director of Municipal Services Sector Owaida Al Qubaisi said: “The Municipality is working in full swing to uplift the level of services rendered to citizens & customers in fulfillment of its mission, strategy and objectives of serving the community and harnessing all material, technical and technological resources for achieving the highest customer satisfaction rating through offering civilized services in several areas.
“In this context, the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City has recently completed the installation of electronic devices dedicated to the issuance of foodstuffs, using sophisticated technology with a view to easing the obtainment of foodstuffs,” continued Al Qubaisi.
The new service enables citizens to process all preparatory steps required for obtaining foodstuffs. Once the user inserts the foodstuff card, issued by various municipal centers as well as the mobile customer service vehicles for those who find difficulty in visiting municipal customer service centers, the machine will read the data and the user will instantly have full details of his (her) foodstuffs card, personal account and foodstuffs available for issuance. The user can easily select the desired food items, pay the bill shown in the machine, and obtain the receipt enabling the delivery of the ordered items.
Mohammed Ali Al Murar, Director of Customer Service at the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City, said: “The deployment of this technological customer service tool epitomizes the objectives of the Municipality to uplift our customer service experience to world-class standards using the latest technologies that save effort and time of citizens, while seeking to obtain the allocated foodstuffs, and presenting the service in a civilized & advanced manner.
“This service is an integral part of a long series of modern civilized electronic services offered by the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City with the aim of achieving unqualified satisfaction of community members & customers with the service offering.
“This service has been warmly received by customers as it is flexible and accessible in many places, thus making it easy for citizens to complete the procedures of obtaining foodstuffs without having to wait or engage in paper transactions. Emiratis have flocked to foodstuffs issuance machines in great numbers, where they were guided and trained on the use of these machines, albeit being simple and similar to the bills payment machines of electricity, water, telephone and other modern technologies used in these regards.
“These machines are available for the public during the official working hours in the initial stage, and in the foreseeable it will be available 24 hours a day. The move comes in the context of the Municipality’s endeavours to broaden the base of the scope of its e-services, attain customer satisfaction, and continuously upgrade the caliber of its services in a way that realizes the objectives, mission and vision of the Municipality,” added Al Murar.
He called on the public to capitalize on all these modern services available at all municipal centers in completing the issuance of foodstuffs in a handy and speedy manner that suits the circumstances of Emiratis and serves their interests & requirements.
